Magic Discs Puzzle

‘Magic Discs Puzzle’ is a math puzzle, a sort of simplified Sudoku game. Rotate discs (by tapping on arrows left from the main stage) in order to get the same sum of numbers in each of ‘slices’. The catch – you don’t know what the number should be. One more thing: when you reach the desired combination, click the ‘Control’ button in order to verify that it’s correct. Only then, you will unlock the next level (there are three).

It seems that there are myriad of combinations, but don’t be discouraged, PuzzleGuys are here to help. There’s a system to determine the target sum and this is how it goes: first, sum all the numbers on the board. In the case of the first level, it is 75, distributed on 15 fields, or – 5 slices (since each slice contains of 3 fields). 75:5 = 15. That is our hidden number, the number you need to get in each slice (don’t forget to tap the ‘Control’ button). The same system applies to other two levels although they have more slices.

‘Magic Discs Puzzle’ is a little math riddle, nothing special, but good enough if you like this kind of stuff.

Supermarket Count

‘Supermarket Count’ gives you a chance to feel the excitement of the housewife (houseperson) faced with a cash register in the supermarket. You need to click on right combination of numbers in order to add them and get the goal sum shown (a bit poorly visible) in the upper right corner of the stage. Sometimes, unlike in the real supermarket, numbers can be negative, too. Yeah, the time is your enemy but you can prevent that with a little trick – when you’re in the trouble, just pause the game. You’ll still be able to see all numbers and requested result, and you can plan your moves in peace.

NBalls

NBalls is a surprisingly fresh mix of a math game and classic bubble shooter with a bit of billiards and a pinch of its own original elements. Your task is to survive as long as you can by shooting down blocks containing numbers. Blocks are slowly going down and when a block reaches the bottom, you lost the game. At the beginning, your only weapon is one green ball with which you can aim and shoot to hit those blocks. When a ball hits the block, the block loses one energy point and, when the number reaches zero, the block gets destroyed. With time you’ll get more ammunition (collect other, ringed, green balls) and your shots will get more power. Unfortunately, new, and stronger, block appear after each of your shots. Very soon, you’ll learn that the basic tactics is to find the angle of shot that will produce most ball deflections, thus making more collisions with blocks. NBalls is simplistic and addictive game, give it a shot.

Beach Sudoku

‘Beach Sudoku’ is … a classic sudoku game, placed in the relaxing beach environment. Goal is to place numbers from 1 to 9 so that each row, column and section contain numbers 1 to 9. Unlike the pen and paper version, errors are easy to undo although they will cost you some negative points.

2048

This idea was a smash hit back in the day. You have a square grid, with numbers appearing on it. Slide them in order to add pairs of same numbers which will, in turn, form one new square with new number, equal to their sum. 2 and 2 make 4, 4 and 4 make 8, and so on. Goal is to reach number 2048. Can you make it? Slide the grid with arrow keys, if you play on computer, or with your finger (well, with what else) if you play on the touch screen device.

Here are some strategy tips.

The first thing, you want to think about when you’re playing 2048, is to think about moving all of your pieces over into any corner square. I like to think of the upper left corner, for example. This is where you need to keep your highest tile at any time. Basically, you want to have your highest value piece jammed into one corner and while you’re doing this you want to restrict yourself to just two moving directions (arrows, if you play on desktop), so I’m only using the up and the left arrow. If I can’t go upper left at some point I’m sort of stuck so I have to go right. You want to restrict yourself to just up and left movements, if you can, and avoid anything else.

2020 Connect

‘2020 Connect’: In this game, you need to connect 4 equal numbers in order to remove them from the board. first, you pick a number, than tap on the desired destination point. Pay attention to avoid blocked paths. If you didn’t get it, don’t worry, there’s good and intuitive tutorial to get you into the game, although we’re sure that you’d recognize the game mechanics right away (someone mentioned the legendary ‘Lines’?) ‘2020 Connect’ qualifies as a math game only because numbers are used as main objects, although they could easily be replaced with, for example, colored balls, diamonds or whatever. But ok, the game is smooth and fun anyway. Some say that ‘2020 Connect’ is one of the best 2048 variants. Why they called it 2020? It’s beyond me…

If you like games containing the ‘2020’ number in their titles, then try out 2020 Deluxe – although the gameplay is not even similar.

Math Balls

Who would say that math games can be so exciting! As usual, the task looks simple – you need to click on the falling balls so to sum of their numbers equals the number given in the bottom. But, time passes quickly, and, if you’re too slow, soon you’ll be overwhelmed with balls. and, when they touch the ceiling, the party is over. If you manage to match 4 ore more balls, you’ll get the special ball – that one has nothing to to with math, and can be used to destroy other balls.

If you’re into math games containing balls (?), you should certainly try out NBalls, game that brings unusual mix of math and bubble shooter.
